You are insulted because you don’t know how academia works currently in clinical areas. I assume you haven’t been in academia, and have a blind trust in academic publishing and funding. — and see what is published officially. People should not die/suffer because a you feel the intellect is insulted. The fallacy is this: you just repeat the claims of people who (the system that) have failed to solve the problem, that is, failed to find the real causes. So, they are not in the position to silence researchers and hypotheses, until their methods are more effective. Like everything, inefficiency the system has is causative.

Academia is becoming like a corporate, with its inefficiencies: not money inefficiencies, but knowledge and effectivity inefficiencies. (Effectivity as efficiency. Efficient but no result, is useless: it means not efficient) ( efficiency < effectivity).
