آيا علیت در خود اشیاء (مستقل از هر ناظر) و وقایع (بدون تکرار شدنشان) وجود دارد؟

اگر اینطور است توسط ریاضیات چگونه تعریف می شود؟
ظاهرا Mututal Information در اين مورد كارا نيست.
مثلا از ميان الف و ب كدام يك باعثِ واقعه ى جيم شدند؟ و به چه ميزان. معيار آن چيست؟

این سوال به ویژه در مورد رویدادهای تاریخی معنی پیدا میکند.
