Technology or action

Ethics of technology are like ethics of any “action”. Some people (Heidegger) say there is something specially evil about technology. No, the evil is with the people who use it. But I am against guns. The theoretical question is we need to draw a line in the “chain of causes”. Any action has unintended consequences. If we want to be ethical, we should not do anything. But even that is not ethical. Creating/developing a technological tool is not separate from any other action in that regards. It should be the responsibility of people who use that tool. People who dropped the bomb like to blame scientists whose theories led to that. It distracts people from those who had direct responsibility. I don’t hear as much discussions in Clubhouse etc about responsibility of the commanders who ordered drop of the bomb. Who are revered. The theoretical problem is “dilution of responsibility”. https://twitter.com/naz_andalibi/status/1536442410191945736?s=21&t=H-r23mjA-1--R1Zz3hNvTw
